Home Based Business Idea - Turn Your Knowledge Into Revenue

By Jeff A Sneeringer -
You may have heard the saying “Knowledge is Power.” When it comes to the Internet, knowledge can also mean revenue.
Every human being has some sort of knowledge or expertise in at least one given subject area. The good news is, there is always someone, somewhere, who is seeking that particular knowledge or expertise.
Why is this good news?
Because anyone, including you, can create an income by sharing your knowledge through the creation of informational products that you can market on the world wide web. And the best part is, you can work at home from your computer.
No matter what your area of expertise happens to be, it is most likely sought after by thousands or even millions of people throughout the world. By simply putting that knowledge into words, you can create an e-book, guide or report and generate an income selling it on the Internet.
You will literally convert knowledge of a certain subject into business.
It works like this…let’s say you know how to play the guitar. You can simply write an e-book titled “Learn How To Play The Guitar.”
Once you create your e-book, the next step would be to build a website to sell it. On your website you’ll have a sales page, of course, but you also want to offer your visitors more than just promotion of your product. To help pre-sell your product, offer as much free content as possible. Give your visitors a reason to get excited about learning what you have to offer.
In the guitar example you could design a web page with stories about some of the successful guitar players in history. Other web pages might discuss how guitars are made, styles of guitars and the different brand names.
By offering a wide range of content you increase their interest in your subject. Plus, the more content you offer, the higher the search engines rank your website. A high website ranking means more traffic, and traffic is what determines your sales volume.
Other examples… Where have you traveled, what did you learn, and what mishaps can you help others avoid? Who knows your own city better than you? Wouldn’t you love to show it to tourists and business travelers yourself? Maybe you are twenty-seven years old and like to bar-hop? Create your ultimate insider’s guide to the best spots in town.
What problems have you faced, or what mistakes have you made? How did you solve or fix them? What would you have paid to avoid them? What did you learn? Present and promote your knowledge properly, and others will pay to learn from your experience.
These are all examples of ideas you can use to create informational products that you can sell online.
So, how do you learn all the details of turning your knowledge into an online revenue?
There are numerous companies that offer the information and tools needed for packaging and selling your knowledge, but there are only a few companies who are professionals in the business.
When looking for a reputable firm, thoroughly investigate the information provided by the those whom you are looking at. The most important thing to look for is evidence such as other peoples products and web sites that were created by using the education and tools provided by that particular firm. Also, it is best to use a company that can give you all the tools needed to complete your task from start to finish.
Now your set, gather your ideas for selling your knowledge online and get started on your very own home based business success!
Do You Know Something About Anything? A Hobby? A Passion? Any Interests? Experience in any field? Become an [http://www.sellyourknowledgeonline.com]information entrepreneur An “infopreneur.” By offering your knowledge to people who are searching the web for what you know, you can create an online income. Anyone with motivation can do it!

Home Based Business - Business Income Plan - 3 Critical Factors in Sourcing a Successful Business
November 24, 2008 by Aristocrats LLC
By Jacqui O’Neill
As I have mentioned, a critical factor in sourcing a successful business, is a Sound Business Model or System. Without it, you could be wasting your time, money and energy, or possibly years of time and effort, and bucket loads of money, if you miss this very important factor.
The Best Business to run has a Proven System or Model that works like clockwork.
Take for example, McDonalds. Why or how does McDonalds work?
- To purchase a McDonalds franchise you have a big financial outlay, which pays for the best real estate location in the suburb. - McDonalds is run by a bunch of low paid teenagers, how could it possibly work every time?
Why? - They have a ‘cookie-cutter’ fool proof system, that works day in, day out, week in, week out, month in, month out, no matter what country you are in, or who flips the burgers.
McDonalds has a proven fool-proof business system, that works.
Another example is building a house.
When building a house, there is no point in going shopping for window frames and roof tiles, or furniture and fittings, before the foundations have been laid, and the walls have been built. You have to start building a house from the foundations up, and not any other way.
There is a set method or process that needs to be followed in building a house, if you want it to look like a house, and stand strong in any weather for many years. Once the basics of the house is built, then you can go shopping for the fittings and curtains and other accessories for furnishing and decorating.
Why are we looking at the process of building a house? To highlight the fact that it has a process, or system, that needs to be followed each time, in order for things to work efficiently.
You need a Proven Plan or Business System to follow in running a Successful Home Business
Just as running a McDonalds, or building a house, so does your Business need a Proven Business Plan or System, to ensure that it will run like clockwork, and run efficiently and successfully.
If you choose to run an internet based home business, there is a lot to take into consideration, and many steps to put into place, which can get quite confusing when you are first starting to learn about internet marketing to make money online.
There is a lot to learn and implement, so you need to ensure you know what the most efficient marketing systems and processes that need to be put in place, and how to put them in place, to leverage and manage your time to your advantage. Some of it comes down to the Marketing Method you want to use, and some of it requires more technical know-how, which can be outsourced to save you time and effort.
Learning to run and operate an online Business is exciting, and can be very rewarding. You will see that there are many programs and tools to assist you, so many in fact, that information and products online can become a great distraction, and one can end up with ‘information overload’ quite easily, and a whole heap of products and tools that are useless to us, leaving us with a feeling of overwhelm and frustration.
This can occur especially when we don’t follow the right Business or Marketing System, which has a simple step-by-step process that works every time, just like McDonalds, or building a house.
In sourcing the Best Business or Product to market online, be sure to check that it has a good System or Process for Simple Set up, and a good Marketing Method.
3 Critical Points - How to Check Your Business Has the Right System
1) Market - Your Business or Product must be in a market where people are looking for those products or solutions to problems that your Business will solve.
2) Product - A Quality Product that customers want or need, or Service that over delivers, that is easy to deliver to the customer, and is readily available. A digital product in an online business is ideal, as the customer can have immediate access to download it once they have paid on the website.
3) Method - A good Sales and Marketing Process is essential.
If you have an Online Business the following is essential to have in place:
- A Lead Capture Page - to build your database or list - A Website - with quality sales copy that does all the selling and telling for you 24/7 - A Payment method, to take sales on the spot - A Thank you page, to confirm the order, and download the digital product paid for - An Autoresponder - to be able to communicate with your customers per email automatically - Customer Support line or contact, for customer care - Back end products to make more sales and make more income - Recurring income or memberships, for continuous income, month by month
The above BluePrint is something you should take and digest, as it is a proven Business System that has worked again and again for many who have made millions. Make sure you are on the right track when Sourcing your Business or Product, to ensure great success, make sure your Business includes all of the above.

Finding Health Insurance For Your Home Based Business

By Henry Kekuki
As a home based business owner health care is something that you only have to think about after you expand a bit. However, once you have a few employees, you need to find a way to offer health insurance. This can be a tough feat to conquer because of the high price of health insurance. However, there are ways to find the best health insurance for your home based business.
There are several companies that offer self employed health insurance plans. These plans are designed for small business owners. Sometimes the best way to get health insurance is to join a group. Home based businesses have a tough time getting fair rates from health insurance providers. However, if your small business bans together with a number of other small businesses you can often find a better deal. Search for buying groups through colleges or alumni associations. You may also be able to find them through your city government or local chamber of commerce.
As a small business you want to look for plans that are specifically geared towards your type of business. There are plenty of insurers that have plans that are tailored to small business. Also, because there is a steady competition in the health insurance market for small businesses, you will be able to find lower rates.
Home based business owners also need to take into consideration their own health insurance needs. Yes your employees need health insurance but so do you and your family. The cost of one major medical bill can wipe out your entire business is you don’t have insurance so be sure that you and your family are covered at all times.
There are so many different types of coverage plans to investigate. It is easy to get lost in all of the mumble jumble. There are fee-for-service plans and PPO and HMOs. All of these health insurance plan types have different specifics. You will have to review all of the benefits and liabilities to find out which one is going to work best for you. Pay close attention to cost and fees, of course and read the fine print. Health insurers have a great way of writing the really important information in small print. Ask as many questions as you can before choosing to go with any insurance provider.
Health Savings Accounts are a great option for small business owners. Employees are able to put money into an account, pre-tax, to help pay for health care costs. A Health Savings Account is not a health insurance product but it can be very helpful to your employees. You and your employees can save money during tax time and you will not incur any cost by offering these plans.
Health insurance is expenses but it does not have to be overwhelming. Review the options and go for the one that will work best for your company. Tailor your insurance needs to save the most money on the type of plan that you offer. There is no need to have more coverage than you or your employees need.

Should You Start a Home-Based Business?
November 24, 2008 by Aristocrats LLC
Filed under Getting your business started
If you are a woman with children or aging parents to take care of, but still need to earn an income, starting a home-based business may be a convenient way for you to be there for your family while continuing to bring in income.
For example, your love for baking and cooking may be a great idea for a catering business or working as a personal chef. Or if you are particularly good at a foreign language, math or any other subject, you could be a tutor. Women with a good eye for style could start an interior design business or a photography business. Creative folks may want to run a scrap-booking business, a gift-basket business or customer jewelry business. The options are endless.
Before getting started, you need to carefully consider if operating a home-based business is really for you.
Reality check
People who have never run their own business sometimes think that doing so will allow you to make a lot of money and take vacation when you like. The reality is that owning your own business is a TON of work - often requiring work 7 days/week, no profit for the first year, no vacation and you may discover that what you enjoy as a hobby is no fun as a job.
Running a business from your home also requires structure. You need to have a space where you can work without interruptions and you need to be able to discipline yourself so that you work efficiently. Because your workplace is in your home, you need to set clear limits on when you work and when you do not.
Skills and research
After considering these factors you decide that that you want to open a business, you will need to research your product or service. Who are you selling to? How are you selling? Who are your competitors?
You also need to understand the financial part of running a business such as how to keep records, how to budget for your business, and if you need financing you should start by looking at your credit. Remember, the higher your credit score, the more money you can usually borrow.
Organizations like ACCION help small business owners with financing and basic business skills. Your local Small Business Development Center can help you put together a business plan and get started.
Some of the most successful home-based businesses are:
Tutoring
Photography
Custom jewelry creation
Make gift-baskets
Cleaning services
Pet service businesses
Scrap-booking business
Sell home-made baked goods
With a little bit of creativity, you too can turn one of your interests into a real income-earning occupation.

Make Your Home Based Business a Real Job
November 24, 2008 by Aristocrats LLC
There are a lot of mistakes that people make when it comes to home based businesses and these mistakes are things that make people fail when it comes to working at home. One of the mistakes that they make is they don’t treat their home based business like a real job. Here are some suggestions on how to avoid this mistake.
Work a schedule
One of the first things that you can do to avoid the mistake of not treating it like a real job is to work a schedule. This means choosing the times that they are going to be working and sticking to it, allowing time for lunch and bathroom breaks.
Dedicate yourself
The second thing that you should do is to dedicate themselves to their work. It’s harder to do that when you are at home and not having someone looking over your shoulder all the time, but it’s a good habit to get into.
Schedule days off
The third thing that is important is to schedule the time off, just as you would for a real job that you work out of the home. Let people know ahead of time that you won’t be available and when you will be back so that they know when to expect you.
Simply because it’s a home based business it doesn’t meant that it isn’t a real job. It is a real job with real responsibilities, but it has to be treated as such so that people are going to take you seriously when you tell them what you do for a living.

Four Key Considerations For Starting a Home Business
November 9, 2008 by Aristocrats LLC
Filed under Getting your business started
By Tom McMullen
There are more than a few working men and women who wish that they could leave the daily grind for a lower-stress, non-commuting job at home. While some briefly entertain the thought of starting a home business and then dismiss it, others decide that a home business idea is worth closer examination. If you do decide to take the plunge and leave your old career behind, there are a few things you should keep in mind as you launch your business:
1. Be prepared to lose money. If you expect to get rich overnight, you may be in for a big disappointment. It takes time to get the word around, advertise your business and build up a regular clientele. Developing a good reputation does not happen overnight. You should not count on making the kind of living you have been used to in your old job. If you’re committed to making your business work, then consider either downsizing your home or cutting your living expenses. A part time job in the evenings or on weekends will help make up for lost income until your business begins to generate serious revenue.
2. Give your business time to grow. Even the best home business idea needs time to blossom and flourish. Success may not come as quickly as you hope. Instead of packing it in as soon as disappointment hits, set a time limit for success. This time limit will vary from business owner to business owner. It will depend upon the amount of financial strain that you’ll be able to bear until you start to generate real profit. Before launching your home business, decide how much money you can afford to lose, how little money you can get by on and for how long. If you have a spouse or partner who is making a good income or you have substantial savings, you will be better equipped to deal with losses at the beginning of your venture. Set your time limit accordingly
3. Don’t try to do something you aren’t qualified to do. For example, if you are a savvy designer and smart with computers, you may be able to start a successful home-based business doing web design. But if your expertise lies mainly in design and less in the area of search engine optimization, don’t attempt to do a job for clients looking for high search engine rankings. If you are a hair stylist who has never been trained in giving spiral perms, don’t let your home-based business customers be your first spiral perm “guinea pigs.” You’ll likely be ruining your reputation as a business person and sealing the demise of your business.
4. Be willing to refer your clients to someone else. This may seem like a tough pill to swallow, but there will come a time that you’ll have to refer a client to someone else. While this doesn’t seem to make good business sense, it actually demonstrates that you have integrity and are truly looking out for their best interests.
The best opportunities are those that have received careful forethought and considerable planning. A successful business does not happen by accident. Finding success in a home business does not require extensive education or major life experience either. It simply takes a willingness to learn from every mistake and accept failure as part of that learning process. When you start a home business, you’ll find that you learn as you go and that being prepared for the ups and downs will greatly increase your chances of developing a thriving business.

Email Marketing Tools - 5 Must Have Techniques

Building a list is all well and good but if you don’t have the attention of your list you might as well not bother. It’s vital that the content your mailing builds trust and provides quality information from day one. There are many different email marketing tools you can use but successful email marketing is built around having the trust and attention of your list.
Providing entertainment to your list can be a great method to gain and hold their attention. YouTube is a great resource where you can find plenty of entertaining videos that could be of interest to your subscribers. Simply attach the link to an email in your autoresponder sequence explaining what the videos about and tell your subscribers to check it out.
Email marketing can be a lucrative business if approached correctly but if performed incorrectly can prove to be an expensive exercise. I’m going to share with you the email marketing tools that I find help gain the attention of my list.
5 Must Have Email Marketing Tools
1. Include audio or video in your autoresponder emails - This can be a great way to get your autoresponder emails started. Simply attach a link in your autoresponder email and direct subscribers to click on the link. This will then take them to either a brief video or audio that provides an introduction with a bit of background about yourself. Allowing your list to be able to see you or hear your voice promotes trust and confidence.
2. Recommend books to read - People love it when you can recommend a great book you’ve read. Provide a brief explanation of the book and attach a link where your subscribers can purchase. I usually provide a story that I found interesting from the book and explain this in the email.
3. Text across the page should be no more that 50 characters long - If your on the list of any of the top internet marketers, one thing you’ll find they all have in common is the structure of their emails. They rarely exceed more than 50 characters across the page. The easiest way to measure this is type “0123456789″ and paste this 5 times across the page.
4. Provide stories throughout your content - People always love a good story. If you can communicate to your list on a level they can relate to this goes a long way in building trust.
5. Make money when people unsubscribe - Your autoresponder will automatically direct unsubscribers to a confirmation page that informs them they have successfully unsubscribed. Most autoresponders allow you to change the destination page of the unsubscribe link and direct them to a page of your choice. You can set up your own site providing some last minute information, attach Google AdSense to the page and earn an income from your unsubscribers.

5 Small Business Marketing Mistakes to Avoid
November 9, 2008 by Aristocrats LLC
Filed under Small Business Marketing Tips
By Kaye Marks
Small business owners can have a hard time finding the right ways to market their product or service. There are plenty of right ways to do things, and plenty of wrong ways. Here is a brief overview of some of the mistakes to avoid when marketing your small business:
Mistake #1: Not researching your product need
Many people have a wonderful idea of a product that is needed in the market, and then spend all their money to create it. You need to research the market first to make sure there isn’t already a similar product out there, and whether there is even a need for your product.
Conduct market research, hold focus groups and only make a small run of your product - a few hundred or so - to test your target market with. This can save you a lot of money and heartache in the long run.
Mistake #2: Thinking that the product will market itself
Many small business owners think their product is so great that they don’t need to do any marketing at all - people will flock to you. That’s just not true, and I can’t think of one example of where it was true. Everyone thinks it’s because the “right product” just hasn’t been invented yet, but unfortunately, that’s not the case. It just won’t work that way. How can people flock to something they’ve never heard of?
You must consistently market your product, which means you need to create a marketing plan. You must define your target market, your unique selling point that distinguishes you from your competition; you must develop a marketing action plan and decide on a marketing budget. These are just the bare-bones basics of a marketing plan. You need some kind of plan to be successful. If you don’t know how to create a marketing plan, just Google “marketing plan” or “marketing agency” - many agencies are hired to just create marketing plans.
Mistake #3: Preparing and then not taking action
Many business owners have a fear of failing. Actually, who doesn’t have this fear? But instead of trying to prevent it, you need to follow your marketing plan (see Mistake #2) and forge ahead. It’s hard at first, no one will tell you it’s not, but you have to sell one product in order to sell a million. If you fail, evaluate what went wrong, try to fix it and try again. Repeat as needed!
Mistake #4: Constantly changing your marketing campaign
It happens a lot - the business owner and employees see their marketing materials every day and get tired of them. The same old poster printing images, the same old brochure copy…who wants to see that after six months of it being around? Your potential customers do, that’s who.
Just because you’ve seen your logo a million times, doesn’t mean everyone has. If your marketing campaign is working just fine, don’t change it for the sake of change. A million people haven’t seen your logo at all. Don’t change your marketing campaign until it stops bringing in customers.
Mistake #5: Don’t play monkey-see, monkey-do with your competitors
You should know what your competitors are doing, but you shouldn’t copy it just because it works for them.
If a competitor is known as a “low price leader,” don’t try to beat him out of that title - choose another like “high quality leader.” Find an important quality that your competitors aren’t giving to your shared target.
